Sparkle Your Nails

Want your nails to look professionally done but don't want to spend money? I'll teach you how achieve a sparkly nail tip gradient that looks professionally done without the tremendous price!

Step 1: Healthy Nails!
Make sure your nails are clean and pretty healthy. Meaning, they don't look damaged and chipped. So cut your nails, file them, and buff them. If you have the time try other nail care products like apricot oil and cuticle treatment. When you're done move to step 2!

Step 2: Chic Color
Select any color you wish! But make sure the color and sparkle your going to use match pretty well. I'm going to use and the OPI Hong Kong Collection's Red My Fortune Cookie. Follow your normal rules of applying nail polish - make sure it's completely dry before fixing it or moving on! Tip: Even if you accidentally paint your skin on the side of your nail let it be, next time you shower or wash your hands gently rub it off. It should come out easily.

Step 3: Sparkle Sparkle Sparkle
The easiest way to do this is actually the nail polish you use. I'm going to use Rimmel Speedy Finish nail polish - it's specifically the Early Summer Limited Colors (I'm using a gold sparkle). The whole point is to make a gradient affect. SO - first, try a french manicure style, which is layer of sparkle at the tip of the nails. This is important because the tip of the nails are going to have the most sparkle. Wait until the tips are dry.

After your nails are dry, it's time for another layer of sparkle. This time when you apply the sparkle start the tip again but venture with a light layer above the tip. Don't over load on sparkles above the tip! Gradient, gradient, gradient! It's a buildup, keep that in mind!

Okay, one more layer of sparkle - gently and thinly on the tips again!

Step 4: Top it Off
Now, after everything has dried finish it off with Top Coat. I use OPI's. Just brush over your nails to make it look silky. It should just glide.

So when your friends ask about your amazing nails, boast and say you did it yourself!
Good Luck with your manicure!

Love,
ALPHA
